Authentica Solutions, founded by Russell Long and Gene Garcia in 2013, has made a significant impact in the education sector by providing data management and integration solutions. Russell Long, with a background in teaching and technology across Texas school districts, and Gene Garcia, transitioning from major commercial companies, brought their combined expertise to build the company. In 2017, they successfully sold Authentica Solutions to BrightBytes, which was later acquired by Google. In 2019, they sold their key solution, DataSense, to Microsoft, contributing to Microsoft’s significant growth in the education market.
In 2022, Russell and Gene reacquired Authentica Solutions, including their Medicaid Solutions service, Special Education Platform Phoenix, and a dedicated team. Their renewed vision focused on addressing data interoperability and empowering educational institutions to manage their data using modern cloud approaches. This vision led to the development of Authentica seed™, an Education Intelligence Platform.
