International online learning platform Udemy has closed a $50 million Series F funding round, Inc. has learned.
The lead investor in the round was Learn Capital, with Winter Capital and Tencent also taking part. The company will spend the funds raised to expand its range of products for private clients and businesses.
Udemy is an educational platform where individuals, companies and governments can take online courses in programming, data analysis, photography, leadership development, team building and other disciplines.
Now the platform offers about 130,000 video courses in 65 languages and has 35 million registered students and 57,000 teachers from around the world. Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in Denver, Brazil, India, Ireland and Turkey.
EdTech startups are one of Winter Capital’s key investment verticals. Last year, the fund became a shareholder in the online education platform SkyEng, and in early 2021, it invested in Algorithmics, an international math and programming school.
